This post is long overdue to the point where I was sure I had written it already. I’m the kind of person who likes to have something to work on in and amongst the minutes ( or hours ) of a day where you really maybe can’t do much else but sit and wait. Driving in a car ( as a passenger ), riding the ferry ( I live on an island and spend more than my share of time in ferry line ups and riding in the vessel). In the boarding lounges at airports and even hours spent on an airplane. Wiston has had skis in his closet since last summer. They were given to him by a special friend who thought they might be just the right fit.
Apparently he needed snow first and foremost and bear in mind he’d never seen snow before . He was told he needed the ski trails groomed and ready and for his local hill to be up and running for another season before he could see what snow and skiing was all about.

It’s November here in this part of the world and although it’s normally rainy and grey, it was a beautiful weekend recently with lots of sunshine and bright blue skies.
Wiston had wanted to hike up to Mt. Finlayson for a while and had never seemed to find the time to make it happen. But with the warmth of the sun and the spawning of the salmon to view along the creek, he decided this was the day.
